  • The foundation of the Thai alphabet and vowels
  • Basic greetings, introductions, questions and short dialogue
  • Eight world-ending protocols, tones
  • Three consonant classes, phonemes and graphemes
  • Combine commonly used alphabets with vowels and tones

Beginner 1

40 sessions x 2 hours per session (Total: 80 hours)

At this level, students delve deeper into the syntax of the Thai language, including:

  • New vowels, basic consonant clusters and lexical tones
  • Ordering food, short dialogue, polite speech, booking a reservation
  • Seasons and weather, body parts, colour, emergencies
  • Simple spelling and sentences

Beginner 2

40 sessions x 2 hours per session (Total: 80 hours)

This course is based on the syllabus for Thai students in Thailand and therefore suitable for secondary students taking Thai at the GCE ‘O’ Level. At this level, students will learn to improve their writing techniques, including:

  •      Writing more than one syllable, high-level consonant clusters and useful grammar
  •      More complex spelling and writing
  •      Short and long dialogue, describing situations and opinions, telephone conversations
  •      Purchasing items, making appointments and comparisons

Intermediate 1

40 sessions x 2 hours per session (Total: 80 hours)

This course is based on the syllabus for Thai students in Thailand and therefore suitable for secondary students taking Thai at the GCE ‘O’ Level. At this level, students will learn to improve their writing techniques, including:

  • Homophones and complex grammar
  • Writing more complex sentences and stories
  • Describing and developing text
  • Basic analysis and evaluation
  • Giving complex dialogue, speech and detailed descriptions
  • Making requests, suggestions and explanations

Intermediate 2

40 sessions x 2 hours per session (Total: 80 hours)

  • Royal words and their meaning
  • Building longer syllables
  • Reading and writing complex texts
  • Expressing yourself effectively and spontaneously, and extended speech
  • Official and unofficial correspondence
  • Reasoning and explanation

Advanced 1

40 sessions x 2 hours per session (Total: 80 hours)

This course is based on the syllabus for Thai students in Thailand and therefore suitable for secondary students taking Thai at the GCE ‘O’ Level. At this level, students will learn to improve their analytical skills, including:

  • Royal words and their meaning
  • Building complex syllables, longer words and understanding idioms
  • Reading and understanding complex texts
  • Analysing texts and expressing opinions
  • Conversing fluently with native speakers
  • Using language flexibly with clear descriptions

Advanced 2
